The whole question and answer session is good… But especially the first part when he rebukes Infant Baptism.
“Infant baptism is not in Scripture, and against that statement, there is no evidence—there is no refuting of that statement. Scripture nowhere advocates infant baptism. It nowhere mentions infant baptism. It doesn’t exist in the Bible; there is no example of it, there is no comment on it, it’s not there. It is therefore impossible to prove that infant baptism is valid, from the New Testament. It’s impossible to support it from the New Testament or for that matter, from the Old Testament.” (John MacArthur A Scriptural Critique of Infant Baptism)
Church yesterday was a little odd, rushed! It seemed quick. It could be because of the long weekend we all had. The sermon was on The Ten Leper’s healed Luke 17:11-19 Just before leaving for church I had read a quote Here About that one leper healed that came back “Ten Percent of all Lepers healed by Jesus thank Him” As my Pastor asked… What side are you on? Something to think about for sure.
What really came to me as I was thinking about that question was in 2 Thessalonians 2:13-17But we should always give thanks to God for you, brethren beloved by the Lord, because God has chosen you from the beginning for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and faith in the truth. It was for this He called you through our gospel, that you may gain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. So then, brethren, stand firm and hold to the traditions which you were taught, whether by word of mouth or by letter from us. Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself and God our Father, who has loved us and given us eternal comfort and good hope by grace, comfort and strengthen your hearts in every good work and word.
Reading that for me beloved is all we needto spark us to worship God with passion and desire … To give Him the thanks and praise He deserves and demands, regardless that we’re ending a long weekend or that we might be too tired… Praise Him and Thank Him because God has chosen you from the beginning for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and faith in the truth.
Psalm 100 Shout joyfully to the LORD, all the earth. Serve the LORD with gladness; Come before Him with joyful singing. Know that the LORD Himself is God; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture. Enter His gates with thanksgiving And His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him, bless His name. For the LORD is good; His lovingkindness is everlasting And His faithfulness to all generations.
Psalm 150 Praise God in His sanctuary; Praise Him in His mighty expanse. Praise Him for His mighty deeds; Praise Him according to His excellent greatness. Praise Him with trumpet sound; Praise Him with harp and lyre. Praise Him with timbrel and dancing;Praise Him with stringed instruments and pipe. Praise Him with loud cymbals; Praise Him with resounding cymbals. Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. Praise the LORD!
