Beethoven’s Mass in C major

Here is the Kyrie from Beethoven’s Mass in C major.  Unlike Bach or Mozart, Beethoven chose to set the mass in a major key, which I think is a good idea.  It is interesting to hear how this differs from the Bach I posted last week.  Same text, completely different music.  What do you think?

One Response to Beethoven’s Mass in C major

  1. What a blessing to hear this beautiful music. I watched “GIFTED HANDS” last night… the story of Ben Carson, the head of pediatric surgery at John Hopkins, and he would play classical music as he studied…and performed the surgery! He spoke of the miracle of the brain… and the majesty of the music of these composers. I recommend the movie…although this was not meant to be a movie review! Thanks for posting the music. It reminds me to turn on the CDs as I work.
