A Deeper Healing (Joni Eareckson Tada)

God does not remove the hardships; He allows them, purposes them, plans them, ordains them and permits them. Pain, problems and paralysis become the lemon that He kept squeezing in my life, revealing all sorts of things from which I needed to repent.

1. Have thine own way, Lord! Have thine own way!
Thou art the potter, I am the clay.
Mold me and make me after thy will,
while I am waiting, yielded and still.

2. Have thine own way, Lord! Have thine own way!
Search me and try me, Savior today!
Wash me just now, Lord, wash me just now,
as in thy presence humbly I bow.

3. Have thine own way, Lord! Have thine own way!
Wounded and weary, help me I pray!
Power, all power, surely is thine!
Touch me and heal me, Savior divine!

4. Have thine own way, Lord! Have thine own way!
Hold o’er my being absolute sway.
Fill with thy Spirit till all shall see
Christ only, always, living in me!

Lyrics: Adelaide Addison Pollard (1862-1934)
Music: George Coles Stebbins (1846-1945)

God does not remove the hardships;
He allows them, purposes them,
plans them, ordains them and permits them.

and that’s a beautiful thing!
Soli Deo Gloria

  1. Mr. Steve

This message can and should be taken to heart by all who hear it!

  2. Midge

Amen and Amen! I sure wish all who are hurting would realize His purpose in all our suffering… No one escapes it, but we all can be comforted that He is walking with us (and often carrying us) through all those trials. (and, you should have heard me sing the hymn when I saw it on the screen – actually, no you shouldn’t have heard it – this 73-year-old voice is not pretty – but I love it with Kurt says “sing anyway”) – one of my favorite hymns, Lenny.
Thank you for your messages to all of us…

  3. Amen Midge!
Have thine own way, Lord! Have thine own way!
