What are you thankful for?

Psalm 92:1-2

1 It is good to give thanks to the Lord

And to sing praises to Your name, O Most High;

2 To declare Your loving kindness in the morning

And Your faithfulness by night

Right now after reading these verses Thank the Lord and sing praises to His name

You can thank Him in the morning; you can thank Him at night for His loving kindness and faithfulness. I always thank Him in the morning. I must confess that I sometimes forget to thank Him at night, but I always thank Him early in the morning for a new day and for His loving kindness that has brought me to a new day. At night, when you go to bed, you can thank Him for his faithfulness in bringing you through the day. I think it is quite an undertaking to bring me through any day. It is wonderful to have a God who will do that! (J Vernon McGee)

Psalm 92:4-5

4 For You, O Lord, have made me glad by what You have done,

I will sing for joy at the works of Your hands.

5 How great are Your works, O Lord!

Your thoughts are very deep.

Thanksgiving is what we offer God for what He has given us.

Psalm 107:21-22

21 Let them give thanks to the Lord for His lovingkindness,

And for His wonders to the sons of men!

22 Let them also offer sacrifices of thanksgiving,

And tell of His works with joyful singing.

When we give thanks we have no where else to look, but UP!!!

Look at the life of the Apostle Paul, he went through many difficult times and trials in his life, but he always thanked God, no matter his circumstance.

Ephesians 5:20

Always giving thanks for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God, even the Father

Colossians 3:17

Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father.

1 Thessalonians 1:2

We give thanks to God always for all of you, making mention of you in our prayers;

1 Timothy 1:12

I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has strengthened me, because He considered me faithful, putting me into service

Philemon 4

I thank my God always, making mention of you in my prayers

Paul always looked up to God for thanks, having a solid relationship with God in prayer and thanksgiving caused Paul to have solid relationships around him where he also gave thanks.

Who are you thankful for?

When we thank God and then thank people around us, it tends to take the focus off of us and onto God and other people.

Two questions for everybody

1 What are you thankful for?

2 Who are you thankful for?

Please comment

I thank God for (obviously not a comprehensive list!):
salvation for me & my family
    my family
His promises, including not to lose any entrusted to Him and to complete the work started in me
His love (I admit it still doesn’t fully compute that He still loves me knowing how easily I sin.)
His Word and my ability to read it & thru the Spirit to understand it & take it in.
the work he gives us to do. “A weed can’t grow where a rose is tended.” Without tending His roses, my life would be full of many more weeds.
