It’s was good to be back into fellowship after a week off… I really got some much-needed rest, so that being said What did I Learned In Church Yesterday.
It was really good to see some people in church yesterday we haven’t seen in a while and learn what they are doing for the Lord in Boston… Sharing their stories and ministries with us. The passion and desire to do the will of God and share the Gospel was very clear… Join me in praying for D.J. and Judy and their ministries… Soli Deo Gloria
As we continue in Philippians in Sunday School we took on these verses Philippians 2:9-11 For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
I learn that the name of Jesus Christ is the most important name… Jesus is the name for salvation… A form of Joshua meaning “Jehovah, or Yahweh saves” but the greatest name He was given is Lord, it’s this name that every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. More on that next week I’m sure.
We tend to get off on rabbit trails as we study the word of God… one thing kept coming to me as I was sitting there in class was that… Yes Jesus came as a humble servant, an example for all to follow. But the next time He comes it will be as a Conquering King.
Revelation 19:11-16 And I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse, and He who sat on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and wages war. His eyes are a flame of fire, and on His head are many diadems; and He has a name written on Him which no one knows except Himself. He is clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God.And the armies which are in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, were following Him on white horses. From His mouth comes a sharp sword, so that with it He may strike down the nations, and He will rule them with a rod of iron; and He treads the wine press of the fierce wrath of God, the Almighty. And on His robe and on His thigh He has a name written, “KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.”
But we who believe live with joy and a heart ready to be in eternity with Christ… to see Him in all His Glory. We echo the apostle John’s words after he hears these words from Christ “Yes, I am coming quickly.” John says”Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.” Revelation 22:20
Let us be ready for the appearing of Christ… serving Him and His church… Preaching His gospel that saves without compromise, speaking the truth in love. The greatest act of love you can give someone is the truth. “Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.”
That’s what I learned in church yesterday.
