Never Stop Praying!

“When a Christian shuns fellowship with other Christians, the devil smiles. When he stops studying the Bible, the devil laughs. When he stops praying, the devil shouts for joy.”  Corrie ten Boom

“Storm the throne of grace and persevere therein,
and mercy will come down.”~John Wesley

Stewards of the Gospel

Paul_washer“As stewards of the gospel of Jesus Christ, we do no service to men by making light of sin, skirting around the issue, or avoiding it altogether. Men have only one problem: they are under the wrath of God because of their sin. To deny this is to deny one of the most foundational doctrines of Christianity. It is not unloving to tell men that they are sinners, but it is the grossest form of immorality not to tell them! In fact, God declares that their blood will be on our hands if we do not warn them of their sin and the coming judgment. To seek to preach the gospel without making sin an issue is like trying to heal the brokenness of people superficially, saying, “Peace, peace,” when there is no peace.” – Paul Washer,

Preaching the gospel to Christians

Paul_washer
“The evidence of a genuine saving work of God in the past is the continuation of that work into the present and until that final day. We are saved if we hold fast to the word that was preached to us (1 Corinthians 15:2). We can have little or no assurance of salvation if such is not the case.” ~ Paul Washer, “The Gospel’s Power and Message”

It was D.L. Moody who once said “You’ve got to get people lost before you can get them saved.”

Amazing Grace and Paul Washer

I have posted a version of this video before, but it still gets to me “Isn’t Salivation Enough?”

It is a trustworthy statement, deserving full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, among whom I am foremost of all. 16 Yet for this reason I found mercy, so that in me as the foremost, Jesus Christ might demonstrate His perfect patience as an example for those who would believe in Him for eternal life. 17 Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen. 1 Timothy 1:15-17

Joy From Christ, Not Your Performance

“You have become the source of your own joy,
joy comes from you and your continuous work,
my joy comes from the finished work of Jesus Christ.”

Believer! is not this the source – the proper source of your joy – that Jesus lived, and suffered, and died for you – that He paid “all that great debt” you owed to law and justice, and washed away the foul stain of your guilt, in His own most precious blood? John MacDuff

when we ought to want to be someone!”

Christ, The True Vine

“God has called you to bear fruit and you will bear fruit, you can bear fruit. He has called you to stand in His presents clean and without spot, Jesus Christ did not shed His blood for you so that the very first thing you see in glory is a scowl on His face because of all your failures.”

Jesus Christ said…….

“”I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. 2 Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit, He prunes it so that it may bear more fruit. 3 You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. 4 Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me. 5 I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing. John 15:1-5

Who Are You In?

“A wife who is 85% faithful to her husband is not faithful at all. There is no such thing as part-time loyalty to Jesus Christ.”  Vance Havner

“Those who have a saving interest in Christ must be willing to part with all for Him, leave all to follow Him. Whatever stands in opposition to Christ, or in completion with Him for our love and service, we must cheerfully quit it, though ever so dear to us.”  Matthew Henry

The Gospel – Paul Washer

One of the problems in the West is we have no concept anymore of a father’s authority and therefore we cannot understand the work of God in the heart of a man. God looks at His children and he says “You will be clean”. Ezekiel 36:25

Therefore say to the house of Israel, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD, “It is not for your sake, O house of Israel, that I am about to act, but for My holy name, which you have profaned among the nations where you went. 23 I will vindicate the holiness of My great name which has been profaned among the nations, which you have profaned in their midst. Then the nations will know that I am the LORD,” declares the Lord GOD, “when I prove Myself holy among you in their sight. 24 For I will take you from the nations, gather you from all the lands and bring you into your own land. 25 Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean; I will cleanse you from all your filthiness and from all your idols. 26 Moreover, I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; and I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. 27 I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will be careful to observe My ordinances. Ezekiel 36:22-27 nasb

A Call To Wonder

Let me ask you. Do you marvel enough? Do you marvel at anything? Is there any wonder? Do you no longer sit down and wonder what’s up there? Do you no longer just sit and think about what’s waiting for you? Your amazed that He created the world? That He created the universe? You ought to be! But there is something even greater, to keep all of these complexities going. Is astounding! He sustains the entire universe moment by moment throughout all of eternity without effort. And it’s lighter then a feather to Him, now that’s power.

“There is not an inch of any sphere of life of which Jesus Christ the Lord does not say, “Mine.” Abraham Kuyper

Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.

The Gospel Is Only Good News To…

“The most terrifying truth I can speak to you… Are you ready? Here it is, the most terrifying thing I can tell a man, a women, a child is that God is good! The most terrifying news is God is good! God is good! What’s the problem with that? The apostolic proclamation is NOT pray this prayer, the apostolic proclamation is this… That He commands all men to repent and believe the gospel.”

Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of God and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.” Mark 1:14, 15

The Gospel Is Only Good News To A Needy Man

“Repentance means that you realize that you are a guilty, vile sinner in the presence of God, that you deserve the wrath and punishment of God, that you are hell-bound. It means that you begin to realize that this thing called sin is in you, that you long to get rid of it, and that you turn your back on it in every shape and form. You renounce the world whatever the cost, the world in its mind and outlook as well as its practice, and you deny yourself, and take up the cross and go after Christ. Your nearest and dearest, and the whole world, may call you a fool, or say you have religious mania. You may have to suffer financially, but it makes no difference. That is repentance.” From the Sermon On The Mount Study- Martyn Lloyd Jones
