The true work of the Holy Spirit happens through the word. So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ. Romans 10:17 Salvation happens through the scripture! Sanctification happens through the scripture! Hope of glory happens through the scripture! Understanding of sound doctrine happens through the scripture! The knowledge of scripture make you an effective evangelist and disciple! Everything happens through the word of God and that’s a beautiful thing! Soli Deo Gloria…

Expository Preaching.

I love this quote from Alistair Begg on expository preaching. We are on the wrong track if we think expository preaching merely as a preaching style chosen from a list (topical, devotional, evangelistic, textual, apologetic, prophetic, expository)… As John Stott says, “All true Christian preaching is expository preaching.” ( Preaching for God’s Glory, Crossway, 1999, p. 28.)   “All true Christian preaching is expository preaching.” and that’s a beautiful thing! Soli Deo Gloria Lenny

The Bible, way better than the movie

I argue that the primary reason we misinterpret the Bible is not because the Holy Spirit has failed to do His work, but because we have failed to do ours. R.C. Sproul It is not the work of the Spirit to tell you the meaning of Scripture, and give you the knowledge of divinity, without your own study and labour, but to bless that study, and give you knowledge thereby… To reject study on…

Dr. John MacArthur

It all happens in a conversation with a Pharisee by the name of Nicodemus. Nicodemus comes to Jesus by night; he’s a very formidable man. The fact that he was a Pharisee meant that he had achieved a very elevated status in his devotion to the Old Testament and to rabbinic law and tradition. He was an expert. Jesus even calls him the teacher in Israel. There are some historical indications that he was…

Jesus answered and said to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.” John 3:3 For now, I want to encourage you to open the Word of God to the third chapter of John as we continue to look at this very important portion of Scripture on the new birth, being born again. We are returning to what is the definitive text in the…

Can you trust the Bible?

my Bible and I

The best evidence of the Bible’s being the word of God is to be found between its covers. It proves itself. (Charles Hodge) How did the early Church ever function without the “expertise” we have today? Yet those Christians turned the world upside down (Acts 17:6), and they did it without any celebrity testimonies, without modern management techniques, without psychotherapy, without mass media, and without most of the means the contemporary church seems to…

Dr. John MacArthur

Beloved, while I was making every effort to write you about our common salvation, I felt the necessity to write to you appealing that you contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all handed down to the saints. 4 For certain persons have crept in unnoticed, those who were long beforehand marked out for this condemnation, ungodly persons who turn the grace of our God into licentiousness and deny our only Master…

Iron Sharpens Iron, So one man sharpens another

You have heard the famous proverb before haven’t you? Iron Sharpens Iron, So one man sharpens another. Proverbs 27:17, I have heard it so many times that we ought to listen to every one that speaks no matter what they say, we could learn something right? This is true we can and we should listen, because the idea here behind this proverb is that people grow from interacting and fellowship with other people. It is…

Spurgeon said “Preach, Preach, Preach Everywhere” You do not know who the elect are. You do not know whose heart will be broken by the divine hammer of truth. But it is your responsibility to use the divine hammer on the hard heart. And as the gospel is preached it will attract to itself, by its own power, through the Holy Spirit, those whom God has ordained unto eternal life.” “Is not My word like fire?” declares the Lord, “and…
